How To Become A Leader In Network Marketing

In this article I am going to share with you how to become a leader in network marketing. When speaking to a potential prospect whether on the phone or in person, there are some very important questions that will help you qualify them for your network marketing business.

First of all there is no ‘secret’ in sponsoring reps in network marketing. There are no secret scripts or secret phone skills, which suck people in on command when it comes to sponsoring new business partners in your network marketing business. In fact it’s not about selling at all. What really matters and the most important aspects that you need to remember when it comes to your network marketing business is the relationship. It’s connecting with that person on a human level and building a relationship built on trust that is more important. People join people that they know, like and trust – period.

You will not be able to sponsor people based on your Network Marketing Company’s ‘valuable product’, or ‘amazing comp plan’. You can learn all the right things to say, and the rebuttals to objections to successfully sign people up. However, what tends to happen a lot of times, is a week later, or month later they come down from that emotional high and realize that they are not going to get rich over night and that there is real work involved. So then they quit and resolve for their old way of life and their old salary and job, never to reach their dreams and goals.

You need to form a relationship, build trust, and make it their idea to join up with you. Wherever you connect with them, you need to let them want to invite you into their world as a welcomed guest. Be a real friend, as opposed to trying to sell them something or push a new business opportunity on them. Now this may seem strange to some of you and it may take some trial and error for you to grasp this, but you will find this to be a very compelling tool. This is called attraction marketing and opposed to your old way of marketing, the prospect is now chasing you. You are assumed as the professional, the leader.

Upon accomplishing this, you experience a level of implied trust that is already in place. The majority of the work is already completed for you. So how do you do this? Rather than marketing your products or opportunity, you will be marketing YOU Inc. It’s very simple, position yourself as a leader as someone with skills, knowledge and tools. It doesn’t matter how long you have been in the business, even if you are new yourself. You build credibility by educating yourself and making yourself extremely valuable. Take that initiative that most people are to lazy to do. You have to want this, and you have to want it from deep inside you. No one is going to hand it to you. Seize every ‘correct’ educational opportunity you can get your hands on.  Find a mentor, coach or trainer who can guide you in this endeavour.

As you complete this, you will be able to aid people and they will start to look to you for leadership. People feel a natural attraction towards others who have equal or higher levels of worth or status. Do you think your prospects would rather work with you; someone that can show them skills of online lead generation and attraction marketing, or Mr. Jo Wonderful over there at XYZ Company who can’t really teach them anything at all. Think how much more comfortable you would have been when you started your Network Marketing business, if you had someone that greatly cared about you and took you under their wing. Or, as many of us experience, our upline keeps in touch with us for a month or so, and slowly the contact becomes less and less frequent until you feel all alone out there. I would rather sign up four committed new representatives a month and spend quality time with them to ensure their success and know they are going to be a valuable partner for a lifetime. As opposed to signing up fifteen reps a month and not having quality time with any of them, and sooner or later have them all fall away from the business. One thing you want is quality over quantity. You want one highly motivated, aggressive person, verses 10 slugs.

Here are some things you can do right now to put yourself into that position as a leader:
1. Keep yourself healthy and physically fit. Maintain a good diet and take good, overall care of yourself. This shows that you care about yourself and reflects positively on you as a person.

2. Wear nice clothing. Old, sloppy clothes say you don’t care about yourself. It comes down to tidiness and attention to detail.

3. Sit and stand with good posture, be confident and comfortable with yourself. Show people that you are in control of your world.

4. Smile and have a sense of humour. Nobody likes to be around depressed or needy people.

5. Don’t be affected by others. Do not react to people’s emotional tests or try to impress them.

6. Learn all you can learn, so that you may become very valuable to others, leaving your competition in the dust!

By practicing these simply but worthy concepts, you will emerge as a leader. Your prospects will now start to seek you, instead of you seeking them.
